In this hands-on workshop, participants will be preparing to be the ringmasters of their own GAFE circus. From taming Chrome and Google Drive, to walking the highwire with Google Forms, participants will explore how using GAFE will allow them to manage their classroom with the greatest of ease. Join us under the big top and see why Google Apps for Education really is the greatest show on earth!

Minecraft is Meaningful: A Crash Course in Gamification Jason Wilmot & Jason Schmidt More than measurements, schools need meaningfulness. Come expecting to learn, create, play and game. You will leave with know-how, experience and an understanding of why students find this form of education absolutely relevant.     This workshop will aim to inform and make a case for online learning platforms like Minecraft. Attendees will come away understanding why Gamification fits pedagogically and how to facilitate it within the classroom environment. This session will be informative, but will shift to hands-on learning and will provide a space for collaboration, creativity and feedback.
Power Up Your Digital Classroom! Dawn Ferreyra Thinking about gamifying your classroom? In this session we will begin to build your digital classroom utilizing the elements of game design. From setting objectives and learning missions, to creating Power Ups, Level Ups, and Activity Loops, by the end of this hands-on session, you will have the tools start your classroom adventure.
Smash Learning in Your Classroom Craig Badura Take the device you are utilizing in your classroom to a whole new level with some App Smashing! App Smashing is the process of combining multiple apps to create one product. App Smashing allows your students to create, collaborate and curate media into new learning artifacts. During this hands on workshop we will explore and create a number of smashes using tools such as Pic Collage, Explain Everything, Popplet Lite, Skitch, iMovie and many more! Come join us for a fun, practical workshop in which you will gain ideas that can be implemented into your classroom tomorrow!
Using Meraki to Deploy and Manage iPads Dave Evertson & Patty Wolfe Are you confused about the new tools Apple has provided for deploying iPads and apps? Would you like to see how the Meraki MDM solution can be used to manage mobile devices? We’ll walk you through the steps required to set up and use Apple’s DEP and VPP management tools in conjunction with Meraki’s MDM solution (system manager).   We’ll help you apply for your Apple DEP and VPP accounts, show you how to enroll your devices in these programs, and provide instructions for configuring Meraki to work with Apple’s tools. We’ll also show you examples of how we use Meraki to manage our school iPads and app deployment. Bring your laptop and one or more school iPads to practice with!
